BATTLE CRY IS NEED OF YOUR HELP.

[read below]

Your help for the Battle Cry campaign could be as simple as clicking the FORWARD TO A FRIEND option below and hitting up all of the ministries and friends you know. Thanks for linking arms with us to reach this generation!

Dear Partner,

I consider all of you close friends, and would like to share with you the recent status of what is happening here at Teen Mania with the BattleCry movement. It seems like this is a season of both incredible favor and challenge. I would like to describe both to you.

I wish we all could have been together in San Francisco to experience God move in the hearts of so many young people. Our event began on Friday night as we gathered together on the steps of City Hall for a heavily protested prayer rally. It continued on Saturday morning as we were required to worship via radio due to a "last minute" noise ordinance imposed against our event. By the time everything was finished, over 11,000 of the 22,000 attendees either committed or re-committed their lives to Christ. It was another powerful example that the Word of God cannot be silenced.

This event also sparked some incredible media coverage across the nation as teens stood for their faith at City Hall - The O’Reilly Factor, New York Times, CNN Presents, Fox News, and ABC’s Nightline all reported on this event as well as multiple local affiliates. This event and the other 40 regional events we continue to do each weekend are part of our effort to do everything we know to do to reach teens for Christ through our Battle Cry campaign. We are so amazed at how God is using the BattleCry events to wake up teens to stand up for their faith to show millions of people across the nation that teens are in trouble and in need help.

I wanted to share this exciting news with you, but also share the most challenging situation we have faced in our 20-year history.

Passionately pursuing this generation with this BattleCry movement is taking significant investment. Where we used to do one stadium event every other year in addition to our weekly Acquire the Fire events, we are in the middle of completing six stadium events in two years. In addition to that, we have created so many tools for local churches to use to double the size of their youth group. We have invested so much money for this BattleCry movement to create this momentum that we have a severe cash deficit RIGHT NOW. We need significant help in order to keep going forward. 150,000 teens in the next 2 months will be impacted by our perseverance today, and to reach them, we must have your financial help now.

I am emailing you today to ask if you would prayerfully consider helping us meet an immediate financial need that will enable us to continue the work of reaching a generation.

Can I count on you to help us with a gift of $25, $50, or $100 so we can reach even more young people in this generation with the love of Christ?

If you can help, please make a donation by credit card or Use PayPal to make your donation. Checks can be mailed to Teen Mania Ministries, PO Box 2000, Garden Valley, TX 75771.

Given the urgency of this moment, I urge you to contact your local church leaders and ask them to take a special offering at church this week. Will you take a step right now to join us in rescuing teens? Forward this email to everyone you know and make a larger impact!

Consumed by the Call,

Ron Luce
President & Founder
Teen Mania Ministries and The Honor Academy

P.S. Forward this on to whoever you know using the "Send To A Friend" tool below.

The Cell Phone Conundrum

So while i was in San Fran, My cell phone disappeared. It was early Friday morning and i had just finished enjoying a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats, half a chocolate muffin, and a Sunny Delight. I answered a call, ensuring the person on the other line that we were indeed on time, and then strategically placed my motorola cellular device back on the table. I arose to throw my trash away, and then proceeded to go to a different hall that some other men were residing. I encouraged them to hurry up and then went back to the breakfast hall to grab my belongings. When i returned, my cell was no longer present. I searched and searched, but to no avail, I had lost my cellular phone.

I rarely lose things, especially things of great importance. I will admit that it almost ruined my morning. During the 30 minute drive from the college to the stadium, i pondered the situation, mourned the loss of a close friend, Mr. Motorola, and then wondered why God would allow this misfortune to fall upon me, in the midst of a great weekend.

And then it dawned on me- Will i praise him in the storm? Like Job said, "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away." or when David cried out "Why are you downcast oh my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for i shall again praise, my salvation and my God." And so even in the midst of losing my cell, i still had a wonderful day, and praised God for what He did in the lives of those teens.

But this is what i need from you. I have a new cell phone, but i need your numbers! If you want me to have your number please send me an email at austin.bunch@teenmania.com. My number is still the same.

Praise God!

[Life] Continues to get harder but also gets better. Problems arise everyday, but so does the mercy and the grace of the Lord. I am learning alot about fear and how Satan uses it to really control most aspects of our lives until we become the person that we never thought that we would be. I desire to love without fear, to aspire without fear, and to live without fear.

1 John 4:18 states that "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."

We need to understand that perfect love was displayed on the cross, and that this act of selflessness freed us from fear. So, if we are being dictated by fear in our lives, then we do not have a correct understanding of what actually happened on the cross. Grace, mercy, and love are the outcomes of a correct perception of the display of the cross. If we do not posses these things, then we are not being perfected by the amazing gift of love.

Do not be held back by fear. Fear causes us to put things in a false, selfish light that controls our ability to love and to be loved. 1 John 4 also states that "God is Love." If we miss out on love, then essentially we are missing out on God. Have faith that the Lord is capable of healing any past hurts and emotions that now cause you to fear.

Faith comes from hearing the Word- The Word is Truth- You will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free!

Be FREE!

SO,   this is the fifth Guantlet week that I have been through and they continue to compel me to pursue a deeper relationship with the Lord and with the people around me. I lost a room of interns, and so now i only have 7 guys that are definitly in my core. I have three Januraries but there is no guarantee that they will continue to reside in the rooms that belong to me. My core consists of all the studs on campus and I am very blessed to have them.

In other news, I had a wonderful Christmas at Lindsee's house. I ate at Chipoltes at least 3 times within two weeks. There should be one in Lindale. I'm thinking of opening it. Her family was very welcoming and I felt right at home the entire time that I was there. Lindsee's mom and i had some interesting conversations as well, that consisted of everything from my future plans in my career, to whether or not i would ever consider living in MO. Her mom definitly has been a blessing- she sends me brownies.
